Terms of Service — StormLookup
Last updated: November 6, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and TWISTED JESTER INC, a Texas corporation based in El Paso, Texas ("StormLookup," "we," "us"). They cover our website at https://stormlookup.com, our reports, and any subscription (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, checking the box at checkout, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. What the Service is — and isn't
StormLookup provides reports listing hail and wind events that public NOAA and National Weather Service (NWS) datasets recorded near an address you enter ("Reports"). A Report is a summary of historical weather records. It is not a roof or property inspection, an engineering opinion, an appraisal, insurance advice, legal advice, or a statement that any property was damaged. Please read our Disclaimers, which are part of these Terms. StormLookup is launching with a Texas-first soft launch: we focus on Texas addresses first and may expand coverage later.
2. Who may use the Service
- You must be at least 18. Eligible buyers are: (a) homeowners and other property owners buying for their own use; (b) roofing and construction contractors; and, separately, (c) insurance companies and licensed insurance professionals, including licensed public insurance adjusters, who may use Reports only in their own licensed work.
- Texas-first soft launch. At launch we focus on Texas addresses. You may still create an account from elsewhere, but report coverage and support are aimed at Texas first; we may expand later.
-
If you buy as a licensed public insurance adjuster, you must give us your Texas Department of Insurance license number (or your state's equivalent), which we may verify, and you may not buy for a property your company is repairing or may repair.
-
You must give accurate account information and keep your login secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- You must follow all laws that apply to you, including Texas insurance and contractor laws if you are a contractor or insurance professional.
3. Prices, payment, and taxes
- Current prices are shown on our [Pricing page] and at checkout before you pay. As of November 6, 2026 they are (plus any applicable tax):
| Plan | Price | Reports included | Users |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single report | $7.99 per report | 1 | 1 |
| Pro, monthly | $29/month | 300 reports per month included (see Section 4) | 1 |
| Pro, annual | $290/year (12 months for the price of 10) | 300 reports per month included | 1 |
| Team, monthly | $79/month | 300 reports per month included, shared by the whole team | Up to 5 included; extra users $15/month each |
| Team, annual | $790/year (12 months for the price of 10) | 300 reports per month included, shared by the whole team | Up to 5 included; extra users $150/year each |
Report allowances reset at the start of each monthly cycle, including on annual plans (each cycle starts on the same day of the month as your purchase, or the last day of a shorter month). Unused reports don't carry over. Extra reports past 300 in a cycle cost $0.99 each, only if you turn on overage (see Section 4).
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We don't store your full card number.
- Prices don't include taxes unless stated. We will add sales tax where required. [PLACEHOLDER: Texas sales-tax treatment of data/information services — confirm with CPA.]
4. Subscriptions, automatic renewal, and cancellation
Please read this section carefully.
- Automatic renewal. If you choose a subscription, your plan renews automatically at the end of each billing period, monthly or annual, at the price shown at checkout (for example, $29/month or $290/year for Pro; $79/month or $790/year for Team, plus tax), and your payment method is charged on each renewal date until you cancel. At checkout we show the price, the billing frequency, the renewal date, and how to cancel, and we ask you to agree by checking a box that is not pre-checked before we charge you.
- Confirmation. After you subscribe, we email you a confirmation with the plan, price, billing frequency, next billing date, and how to cancel.
- Annual renewal reminder. For annual plans, we email you a reminder at least 15 and no more than 30 days before each annual renewal charge, with the renewal date, the amount, and a link to cancel online.
- How to cancel. You can cancel online at any time from Account → Billing → Cancel subscription, in a few clicks, with no phone call or chat required. You can also email hello@stormlookup.com. We don't charge cancellation fees, and we email you a cancellation confirmation.
- When cancellation takes effect. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you already paid for: your plan won't renew, and you keep access until then. This applies to annual plans too: if you cancel partway through the year, you keep access until the end of your paid year and won't be charged again. We don't give partial refunds for the unused part of a monthly or annual period, except as our Refund Policy says.
- Monthly allowance and optional overage. Pro and Team plans include 300 reports per monthly cycle; on Team plans, the 300 is shared by all users on the account. Overage is off by default. When your account reaches 300 reports in a cycle, we notify you by email and in your account, and additional reports are paused until your next cycle starts or until you turn on overage. If you turn it on, each additional report in that cycle costs $0.99; we show this price when you turn it on, and you can turn overage off at any time in Account → Billing. We never charge for overage unless you have turned it on. Overage charges are billed at the end of each monthly cycle and listed on your receipt. Extra reports aren't refundable once used, except for our errors (see the Refund Policy).
- Team users. A Team plan includes up to 5 users at one company. You can add more users for $15/month per user on monthly plans or $150/year per user on annual plans. Users added partway through a billing period are charged a prorated amount for the rest of that period. Removing a user takes effect at your next renewal, with no refund for the current period. Users must be your employees or contractors working for your business, and each user needs their own login; don't share logins.
- Upgrades and plan switches. When you upgrade or switch to a higher-priced plan (for example, Pro to Team, or monthly to annual), the change takes effect right away and the unused time on your old plan is credited toward the new plan's price. Downgrades (for example, Team to Pro, or annual to monthly) take effect at your next renewal, and there's no refund for the current period.
- Confirming added charges. Before we charge for overage, an added user, or an upgrade, we show the price (including any prorated amount charged today) and ask you to confirm. We email you a confirmation when you turn overage on or off, add or remove a user, or change plans.
- Price changes. We'll email you at least [30] days before any price increase takes effect. It applies at your next renewal after that notice. You may cancel before then.
- Free trials. [PLACEHOLDER: The current plan has no free trial. If one is added: state the trial length, the price that starts after the trial, the date of the first charge, that you can cancel online before that date to avoid being charged, and send a reminder email [3–7] days before the trial ends.]
- Free sample reports. A free sample Report doesn't start a subscription and doesn't require a payment card. Sample Reports are for your own personal or internal evaluation only (see Section 6).
- Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, we may retry it and pause your subscription until it's paid.
5. Refunds
See our Refund Policy. It is part of these Terms.
6. How you may use Reports
You may:
- use Reports for your own personal or business purposes;
- give an unaltered copy of a Report to the owner or occupant of the listed address, or to an insurer, as a summary of recorded weather events.
You may not:
- edit a Report, remove or cover its notices, or add your logo or wording to it;
- describe a Report as an inspection or a damage finding, present it as coming from or approved by NOAA, the NWS, or any government agency, or say or suggest that it, or StormLookup, supports or helps with insurance claims;
- use a Report, or our name, to act for a property owner in negotiating or settling an insurance claim, or to advertise that you do, unless you are a licensed public insurance adjuster acting within your own license (Tex. Ins. Code §4102.051);
- if you are, or may be, the contractor on a property, use a Report to act as a public adjuster for that property, or to advertise that you do (Tex. Ins. Code §4102.163);
- give Reports (free or paid) to property owners as an inducement for an inspection, a contract, or an insurance claim, or use them as door-hangers or canvassing giveaways;
- add a NOAA, NWS, or other government logo to a Report, or present a Report as official or unaltered government data;
- share free sample Reports with anyone outside your household or company;
- resell, sublicense, or redistribute Reports in bulk, or copy, scrape, or automate access to the Service, without our written permission;
- use the Service to identify, profile, or contact individual people, or combine Reports with owner-name or other personal data;
- use the Service in any way that breaks the law.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
7. Our content and the source data
The underlying weather records come from U.S. government sources (NOAA, NWS, and others listed in each Report) and are not subject to copyright. Our selection, arrangement, calculations, software, and design are owned by TWISTED JESTER INC. These Terms let you use the Service as described here; they don't transfer ownership. StormLookup is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by NOAA, the National Weather Service, any government agency, or any insurer.
8. NO WARRANTIES
TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, THE SERVICE AND ALL REPORTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, TIMELINESS, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. SOURCE DATA MAY BE PRELIMINARY, INCOMPLETE, DELAYED, ESTIMATED, OR WRONG, AND WE DON'T VERIFY IT AGAINST CONDITIONS AT ANY PROPERTY.
9. LIMIT ON OUR LIABILITY
TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS: (A) WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, JOBS, OR BUSINESS, ARISING FROM THE SERVICE OR ANY REPORT; AND (B) OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. THE LAWS OF SOME PLACES, INCLUDING THE TEXAS DECEPTIVE TRADE PRACTICES–CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT, MAY GIVE YOU RIGHTS THAT THESE TERMS CAN'T LIMIT; IF SO, THOSE RIGHTS STILL APPLY.
10. YOUR RESPONSIBILITY FOR HOW YOU USE REPORTS (INDEMNITY)
YOU AGREE TO DEFEND TWISTED JESTER INC AND ITS OWNERS AND EMPLOYEES, AND TO PAY ANY CLAIM, FINE, JUDGMENT, OR REASONABLE COST (INCLUDING ATTORNEY'S FEES) BROUGHT BY ANYONE ELSE, TO THE EXTENT IT COMES FROM: (A) YOUR CHANGING A REPORT OR REMOVING ITS NOTICES; (B) YOUR STATEMENTS ABOUT A REPORT OR ABOUT US; (C) YOUR USE OF A REPORT IN CONNECTION WITH AN INSURANCE CLAIM, INCLUDING ACTING FOR A PROPERTY OWNER WITH AN INSURER; OR (D) YOUR BREAKING THESE TERMS OR THE LAW.
11. Reliance by other people
Reports are prepared for the account holder named on them. Anyone else who receives a Report (such as a property owner, an insurance company or its representatives, or a court) receives it for general information only, should not rely on it as a statement about any property or insurance claim, and should check the listed NOAA/NWS source records directly. We don't accept responsibility to anyone other than our customer, except where the law requires it.
12. Disputes, governing law, and venue
- Talk to us first. Before filing a claim, please email hello@stormlookup.com and give us [30] days to try to resolve it.
- Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of your state requires otherwise.
- Where cases are heard. Any dispute about these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in El Paso County, Texas, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere. Either party may bring an eligible claim in small-claims court. There is no arbitration agreement.
13. Changes, suspension, and ending the Service
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we'll email active subscribers at least [30] days before it applies to them. If you don't agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect. We may suspend or end the Service, or your account, for a violation of these Terms, and we may discontinue the Service with [30] days' notice and a prorated refund of prepaid subscription fees.
14. Language
These Terms are available in English and Spanish. We translated the Spanish version in good faith to match the English. If the two versions conflict, the English version controls, except where the law requires otherwise. If you have a question about either version, contact us at hello@stormlookup.com before you buy.
15. Other terms
These Terms, the Refund Policy, the Disclaimers, and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the Service. If a part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Our not enforcing a term isn't a waiver. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our consent.
